Know where an IP really comes from

Paste an IPv4 or IPv6 address and get its country, province, city, ISP, coordinates and timezone in one response. The same data is available through a small JSON API.

Country to city

Country, province, city and timezone are returned together, with ISO-style country and province codes for programmatic use.

ISP and coordinates

The response includes the ISP or organisation name plus latitude and longitude when the underlying dataset provides them.

Local dataset lookup

Lookups run against locally maintained ip2region and MaxMind datasets, with a short in-process cache for repeat queries.

One small JSON API

POST an IP to /api/ip/lookup, or call /api/ip/myip to resolve the caller's own address. No key is required for normal use.

Built for scripts

The API returns a stable envelope with code, message and data. The fields are the same ones shown on the query page.

JSON
curl -s https://ipregion.litelake.cn/api/ip/lookup \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"ip":"8.8.8.8"}'

Quick start

  1. Paste an IP into the query box, or call POST /api/ip/lookup.
  2. Read country, province, city, ISP, coordinates and timezone from the response.
  3. Use GET /api/ip/myip when you need the caller's own address.

FAQ

Is LiteIpRegion free?

Yes. During Beta every public feature, including the JSON API, is free to use.

Why does a private IP return no location?

Private, loopback and reserved ranges are not tied to a public location. Only public addresses are meaningful.

How accurate is the result?

IP geolocation is approximate. City and ISP can be wrong or outdated; do not use it as the sole basis for legal or safety decisions.

Free during Beta

Every public feature is free while the product is in Beta. A paid tier is not offered yet.
